Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

With one game to go before the Texas Collegiate League Playoffs, the Acadiana Cane Cutters lost to the top seeded Brazos Valley Bombers 13-4, a game during which most of the Cane Cutters' starters were rested. For a bit of perspective, pitchers were summoned to relieve the position players. Second baseman Nick Dawson even came in to pitch. With the third playoff seed already locked up, Acadiana head coach Lonny Landry could afford to rest his starters.

Though most of the starters were rested, right fielder Kyle Cedotal and shortstop Logan Taylor had big nights, each notching 2 hits and driving in a run for the Cane Cutters. Victor Sanchez went 7 innings and had 5 strikeouts.

The Cane Cutters will face the second seeded Victoria Generals in Victoria Saturday night to start the 2013 Playoffs while the East Texas Pump Jacks will face the 1-seeded Brazos Valley Bombers in Bryan, TX. With a win, Acadiana will guarantee a home game on either Sunday or Monday, depending on the winner of the East Texas-Brazos Valley matchup. If East Texas wins, the Cane Cutters will play at least one game on Monday, and again at home on Tuesday, if necessary. With a Brazos Valley Bombers win, the Cane Cutters will play one game at home and the second and third games will be in Bryan, TX. For all playoff games at Fabacher Field, all best available tickets will be $3! Chairback seats will be $10 at the gate as well! Let's cheer on our Acadiana Cane Cutters as they begin their playoff run in Texas!
