Cane Cutters Continue Hot Bats

July 10, 2018 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL) - Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

YOUNGSVILLE, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters complete yet another sweep of the Texas Marshals with a score of 14-4 to extend their winning streak to 11.

The Cane Cutters struck early scoring five runs in the first inning and six runs in the second, and after a scoreless third, they added three more runs in the fourth. The Cutters' offense combined for 14 runs on 13 hits and totaled 10 RBIs. The Marshals' pitching staff walked 11 Cane Cutters in the series finale.

Brayson Smith (UNO), the starting pitcher, was named Powerade Player of the Game after throwing six innings and striking out nine batters, only allowing five hits and two runs.

The Cutters now hit the road for a two-game road trip against the Twins.

The Cutters will be back at Fabacher Field again Thursday (7/12) against the Brazos Valley Bombers. It will be LSU Night! Anyone wearing Purple & Gold gets in for the discounted price of $5!
