Canadian Standout Victoria Hayward Agrees to Term with Pennsylvania

Washington, PA-February 17, 2015-The Pennsylvania Rebellion are pleased to announce the signing of outfielder Victoria Hayward to a two-year contract. Hayward was the 19th overall pick by the Rebellion in the 2014 NPF Draft but elected to play with the Canadian National Team last summer.

Hayward has competed with the Canadian National Team for six summers. She made her debut with the Canadians at the age of 16, becoming the youngest player to ever do so. The native of Toronto, Canada has participated in the World Championships, Pan-American Games, and has played in international tournaments all over the world.

"We are looking forward to having Victoria join the Rebellion this season," General Manager Steven Zavacky said. "We knew when we drafted her last year the type of talent she can bring to the outfield and our lineup. She's a tremendous player and we are expecting her to have a huge impact on our team."

The outfielder played collegiate softball at the University of Washington where she was a four-year starter garnering All-Conference honors in each of her four seasons. In her senior year, she finished atop the Pac-12 in stolen bases, top five in batting average (.414) and on-base percentage. In addition to being a four-time All-Pac 12 Conference Selection, her other accolades include; two All-Pacific Region Selections. In the offseason, Hayward also doubles as a volunteer assistant coach for Seattle Univeristy.
