London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are excited to announce that we have signed Canadian wing, Jermaine Haley Jr, for the 2022 season.

The 6'8 native of Vancouver, BC joins the Bolts after playing overseas in Germany before two stints in the NBA G-League with the Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards affiliate) and the Grand Rapids Gold (Denver Nuggets affiliate) where he averaged 4 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. At just 24 years old, Jermaine brings a versatile game to the Bolts as he can play four positions on both sides of the ball.

Haley Jr. played collegiately for New Mexico State before transferring to West Virginia University to play under legendary head coach, Bob Huggins. The former BioSteel All-Canadian's father was a professional football player in both the CFL and NFL while his grandfather was a high-jumper with the US Men's National team.

Jermaine was a part of the 2021 Team Canada Men's Senior National team during the first window of the FIBA World Cup 2023 qualifying games.

"Jermaine brings a very unique skill set and pedigree to our team. Having played internationally in Germany, the G league and for Bob Huggins at West Virginia he has the acumen to step on the floor and be a high impact player from day one. Jermaine is 6'8" and has a very good feel for the game. We will play him at the 1-3 and he has the ability to guard 1-4 in our league with his size. He has great vision and the length and intellect to impact a multitude of facets of the game". - Head Coach Doug Plumb

"I'm excited to join the Lightning this season. London has a long standing track record of success in the league and I've heard nothing but great things about the organization, city and fans. Looking forward to getting out there next week and getting this thing started".- Jermaine Haley

Catch Jermaine and the rest of the Lightning this season at when they take the court at the Budweiser Gardens for their home-opener March 5th, 2022.
