Quebec 12, New York 2
Nine different Capitales scored runs in Thursday night's 12-2 win over New York. LF Robert Wagner scored a game-high three times and hit a two-run, seventh-inning homer to highlight his 2-for-4 night. Wagner finished the game with three RBI. Quebec 3B Ivan Naccarata went 3-for-5, leading all players in hits, scoring once and batting in one run. Capitales starting pitcher Bryan Rembisz allowed only two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings of work before handing the ball off to the Quebec bullpen.
Pittsfield 8, Brockton 4
Leadoff Pittsfield batter and August Player of the Month Jerod Edmondson went 2-for-5 and hit a two-run homer in the eighth to carry the Colonials past Brockton, 8-4. Edmondson - whose blast was his 15th of the year - was joined in the home run club by teammate 3B Johnny Welch, who also went 2-for-5. The Rox took a 3-2 lead in the fourth inning. But the Colonials answered quickly, tying the score in the fifth and taking a two-run lead in the sixth. Rox CF Chris Valencia scored twice and had a game-high three hits for Brockton.
New Jersey 11, Newark 4
Newark held leads of 3-0 and 4-3 in the first and second innings. But the Bears didn't push another run across the rest of the game while the Jackals kept on trucking, leading to an 11-4 New Jersey win. Jackals RF Bryan Sabatella led all players in hits, going 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. New Jersey relief pitcher Jared Locke threw two no-hit innings in the middle of the contest, allowing only one walk with three strikeouts to pick up the win. The Bears' first three runs came via the home run, with CF Brandon Watson hitting a game-opening blast in the first before teammate Danny Santiesteban hit a two-run jack four batters later. But the Newark offense sputtered from that point on, scoring only one more run. New Jersey took advantage of the opportunity to take the decisive win.
