New Jersey 6, Rockland 3
New Jersey's 1B Matt Padgett powered the Jackals to 6-3 win over the Rockland Boulders Sunday. Padgett went 3-for-4 with two solo homeruns in addition to drawing a walk. LF Chris Duffy added two RBI on a 2-for-2 performance. SS Jeremy Barnes also had a two-hit game. The Jackals scored in the first inning but Rockland took back the lead in the bottom of the frame. The Jackals took the lead back with two runs in the top of second and never trailed again. The Jackals took the game despite being outhit 12-10.
Quebec 8, Trois-Rivieres 3
A five-run seventh inning put the Quebec Capitales out in front of the Trois-Rivieres Aigles as they took the game 8-3. Three Capitales registered two hit games - 3B Maxime Lefevre, C Josue Peley and CF Steven Boucher. Boucher was particularly efficient as he was 2-for-3 with a homerun, two RBI, two runs scored and earned a pair of walks. Peley also added two RBI for the Capitales. For the Aigles, DH Drew Miller was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Quebec starter Bryan Rembisz picked up the win for going six innings and allowing two runs on four hits.
Newark 8, Laredo 7
In a game where 17 different batters combined for 27 hits the Newark Bears edged the Laredo Lemurs 8-7. Both LF Derrick Pyles and DH Ernie Banks Jr. went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. 1B Mike Gedman also added two hits and RBI. For the Lemurs, SS Jimmy Mojica went 2-for-5 with three RBI and LF Danny Poma was 3-for-4 with two RBI. Three other Lemurs had two-hit games and all nine batters registered at least one hit. The Bears took control of the contest with seven runs in the third and fourth innings combined. Starter Mike Ness earned the win and Jorge Vasquez picked up the save.
