New Jersey 7, Trois-Rivieres 4 - Box Score
New Jersey scored five runs in the fourth inning to grab a 5-1 lead and would cruise from there to down Trois-Rivieres, 7-4.
The Jackals had five batters with multi-hit games including DH Richard Stock who went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. New Jersey RF Sthervin Matos scored a run and drove in two in a 2-for-4 night while leadoff hitter Nelson Ward collected three hits in five at-bats and scored a run. In total, the Jackals had 15 hits in the contest.
New Jersey starter Brendan Butler threw seven solid innings of work and picked-up the win. The righty gave up two earned runs on four hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts. With the victory, Butler is now 3-2 on the season.
For Trois-Rivieres in the losing effort, CF Parker Sniatynski went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Rockland 6, Sussex County 2 - Box Score
After falling behind 2-0 through a half an inning of play, Rockland came back and scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good and beat Sussex County, 6-2.
Designated hitter Blake Grant-Parks led the way at the plate for the Boulders going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Rockland 1B Matt Oberste had two hits in four at-bats along with a run scored while SS Marcos Almonte collected a pair of hits and a run batted in. Second baseman Ryne Birk also chipped in a solo home run for Rockland.
Boulders starting pitcher Tommy Shirley gave up two earned runs over six innings of work and notched his second victory of the season. Shirley allowed a walk and two hits to go along with six strikeouts.
Right fielder Mikey Reynolds launched a solo home run in the loss for the Miners.
Ottawa 4, Quebec 1 - Box Score
Ottawa scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning to take a 2-1 lead and would go on from there to defeat Quebec by the score of 4-1.
With the contest scoreless after 2 ½ innings of play, the Capitales jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third as SS Michael Baca launched a solo home run. The Champions would come back in the fifth inning to grab the lead for good as they plated the two runs thanks to a single by 3B Jordan Caillouet and a LF Eduard Pinto sacrifice fly. Ottawa added two more insurance runs in the eighth on a two-run double from 1B Vincent Guglietti.
Guglietti went 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Caillouet collected two hits in five at-bats and drove in a run.
Champions starter Danny Garcia tossed seven strong innings and earned his fourth win of the year. Garcia allowed an earned run on four hits and struck out five batters.
