Can-Am League Game Recaps

Trois-Rivieres 4, Ottawa 3 (11 Innings)
Shortstop Sam Dexter scored the game winning run on a fielder's choice by 1B Kevin Cornelius in the 11th inning as Trois-Rivieres edged Ottawa, 4-3.
Dexter started the inning at second base and was moved over to third on 2B David Glaude's groundout. The next two batters, DH Javier Herrera and 3B Taylor Brennan, were then intentionally walked to load up the bases with one out. Cornelius finally came up and hit a ground ball to the Champions SS Daniel Bick which he threw to 2B Michael Hungate for the out at second but the throw to first to get the double play was low allowing Dexter to score the winning run.
Herrera went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs while Brennan added a blast of his own, his league leading 23rd of the season.
Aigles pitcher Fernando Fernandez tossed a scoreless inning of relief and notched his first victory of the season. Fernandez struck out one in his 10-pitch outing.
For Ottawa, Bick went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.
Sussex County 4, Quebec 0 (Bottom 8 - In Progress)

Rockland at New Jersey (Postponed - Rain)
The game between Rockland and New Jersey was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, July 28 beginning at 3:05 PM.
