Trois-Rivieres 6, Quebec 4
Trois-Rivieres jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 3 ½ innings of play and would hold off a late Quebec rally to win, 6-4. The Aigles were once again led by 3B Taylor Brennan, who hit another home run in a 1-for-3 night, with two runs scored and two RBI. Currently, Brennan has nine home runs and 18 RBI, both tops in the Can-Am. Trois-Rivieres LF Javier Herrera and DH Taylor Oldham both aided the offensive attack with two hits in four at-bats and scored a run.
Aigles starting pitcher Ethan Elias tossed eight solid innings in collecting his second win of the season. Elias gave up three earned runs on six hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts.
For the Capitales, leadoff hitter Stephen Gaylor went 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.
New Jersey 8, Rockland 4
The New Jersey Jackals scored four runs in the second inning to go ahead 4-0 and would cruise from there to an 8-4 victory over Rockland. New Jersey collected 11 hits as a team with eight batters picking-up at least one. Jackals leadoff hitter Connor Hofmann went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI while DH Daniel Canela chipped in a blast along with three RBI and a pair of runs scored.
New Jersey pitcher Jose Velez threw two scoreless innings of relief to nab the win. Velez faced six batters and struck out four of them. The southpaw is now 1-0 on the year.
For the Boulders in the losing cause, 1B Mikael Mogues hit his second home run of the season in a 1-for-2 night.
Sussex County 4, Ottawa 1
Sussex County tallied three runs in top of the ninth inning to break a 1-1 tie and beat Ottawa by a 4-1 score. The Miners went out in front 1-0 in the third inning as DH John Schultzscored off an error by Champions C Tyler Nordgren. Ottawa would tie the score at 1-1 in the eighth when SS Daniel Bick singled home CF Chase Harris from third base. The tie would not last for very long as Sussex County came right back and plated the three runs in the ninth to win the contest.
Schultz led the offense for the Miners going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI. Sussex County 1B Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-3 with a run scored while leadoff hitter Alex Glenn had a pair of hits in five at-bats.
Miners pitcher Kenny Koplove tossed two innings of relief and notched his third victory of the year. Koplove gave up an earned run on two hits and fanned two batters.
