
Calgary Sweeps March Player Of The Month Awards

The National Lacrosse League has announced that Calgary Roughnecks transition player Jeff Shattler is the league's Player of the Month and forward Curtis Dickson is Rookie of the Month for March 2011. Calgary won all four of its games played in March, improving its season record to 9-3. The Roughnecks outscored their opponents in those games 63-43, for an impressive average margin of victory of 5 goals per game.
Shattler scored 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in four games played as the Roughnecks went 4-0 in the month of March. He also contributed at the defensive end of the floor, picking up 21 loose balls and forcing 12 turnovers.
Dickson, a rookie forward, scored 11 goals and 8 assists for 19 points in four games played in March. His best game may have been a big performance against the Eastern Division leading Toronto Rock on March 25, as the rookie scored three goals and an assist in a 14-9 win at Scotiabank Saddledome.
The monthly player awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's ten member clubs.
