Parrots Week in Review:

The Parrots are riding a season high four game winning streak following two wins last week; an 8-3 win at the Joel Coliseum Annex (The Cage) on Thursday night against Jacksonville, and a 6-3 road win in Fayetteville against the Fire Antz on Saturday night. The Parrots Roger Holeczy (hole-eck-e) was named Atlantic Coast Hockey League "Player of the Week". In his two games this week, the Park Ridge, Illinois native had the three-goal hat trick against Jacksonville and added an assist against Cape Fear.

Parrots Roster Changes:

Head Coach Bruce Ramsay made a number of roster changes to improve the club as it heads into January action in the ACHL. First off, the Parrots acquired Goaltender Andy Kollar and Forward Chris Cerrella from the first place Orlando Seals. Cerrella is the ACHL's sixth leading scorer with 16 goals & 19 assists in 26 games with the Seals.

To make room for the two new players, Coach Ramsay traded Forward Janis Tomans to Orlando and placed on waivers Goaltender Michal Lanicek. The Parrots also added new Forward Rustam Bakhriddinov and placed on waivers Forward Todd Bisson.

.

Flying Ahead:

The Winston-Salem Parrots begin the week in third place in the ACHL with a record of 12 wins and 10 losses; good for 24 points in the standings. At home, the Parrots are 5-5 while on the road they are 7-5.

With three home games this week at the Joel Coliseum Annex, the Parrots will have played seven of their first nine games as the "Winston-Salem" Parrots at home. Following this week, the Parrots play five of their next six games on the road.

Last Friday's home game (12/27), which was postponed due to problems with Coliseum Annex ice plant, has not yet been scheduled. Team & Coliseum officials are currently attempting to identify a suitable make-up date.

Tickets for all Parrots home games are on sale at the Joel Coliseum Box Office, or by calling Ticket Master: 722-6400 in Winston-Salem or 852-1100 in Greensboro. For Parrots season tickets or group tickets, call the Parrots at 722-7445.
