Busy Community Day For Thunder In Frisco This Saturday

FRISCO, Tex. - The Frisco Thunder will be active in the community on Saturday, January 26 with two appearances benefiting local charities and service groups.

Thunder owner Jake Reed will be signing autographs along with legendary sportscaster Pat Summerall, Dallas Desperados head coach Will Clay, former Dallas Cowboys assistant Joe Avezanno and others at the DFW Fan Fest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coach Joe's Sports Grill, 9305 Preston Road. Proceeds will benefit the Texas Special Olympics. Admission is free, but a minimum donations of $10 is requested.

Earlier in the day, Thunder head coach Troy Esprit and several players will join Habitat for Humanity's Extreme Build for Youth project in Plano. Approximately 80 area youth will be on hand constructing two houses that day.

The Thunder hosts the opening game of the 2008 Intense Football League season on Saturday, March 1st at 6 p.m. against the San Angelo Stampede Express. All home games will be played on the EDS Credit Union Field in the Deja Blue Arena, located in the Frisco Dr Pepper StarCenter. Season and individual tickets are available now at 972-731-6968.
