Bulls assign Andriuskevicius to Wizards

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 11, 2006 - The Chicago Bulls announced that 7-2 center Martynas Andriuskevicius (Mar-teen-es An-droo-SKAV-ih-chis) has been assigned to the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League (D-League). Dakota has been designated as the Bulls' D-League affiliate for the 2006-07 season.

Andriuskevicius, a second-year center from Lithuania, has yet to appear in regular-season game with the Bulls. He was acquired on August 18 from Cleveland in exchange for guard Eddie Basden. As a member of the Cavaliers in 2005-06, Andriuskevicius was assigned to the D-League, playing 15 games with the Arkansas RimRockers and averaging 19.1 minutes, 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds.

Drafted in the second round (44th overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic, he was traded to Cleveland for a second-round pick and cash on June 29, 2005. Andriuskevicius has played in six career NBA games, all with Cleveland, averaging 1.5 minutes and 0.7 rebounds.

Andriuskevicius is the sixth NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season. The complete list of 2005-06 NBA to D-League designated players and their current status follows:
