Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have signed forward David Croteau for the 2009-10 season. Croteau spent the last two seasons playing in France for the HC Mulhouse Scorpions.
In two seasons with the Scorpions the 26-year-old Croteau (pronounced CROWE-toe) put up 99 points (40-59=99) in just 35 regular season games, averaging 2.8 points per contest. In the 2008 playoffs the Gatineau, Quebec native averaged three points per game, as he piled up 18 points (8-10=18) in just six playoff contests.
"David's numbers in France are very impressive, he is a nice signing for us," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He can flat out put the puck in the net."
Last season Croteau, 5'10, 175lbs, had 46 points (16-30=46) in 18 games, to go along with 110 PIM's.
During the 2007-08 campaign Croteau put up stellar numbers, scoring 53 points (24-29=53) in 17 games while picking up 109 PIM's.
"We think David can continue to put up those numbers here in Laredo and help lead us to a championship."
Croteau is the sixth Buck signed this offseason, including the third with at least one year of professional experience.
The Bucks will start their eighth season in the Gateway City in October, and will host the 2010 CHL All-Star game January 13th. Season tickets start at under $6.50 per game. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to order.
