Bucks Find Their New Voice

(LAREDO, Texas) -- Monday afternoon the Laredo Bucks announced the hiring of Joe Dominey as their new director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. The Bucks will broadcast all pre-season, regular-season and post-season games on "The New QURE 94.9 FM".
"We had numerous applicants for the position and there are a lot of very good people out there, but in our minds the one that stood out was Joe," said Head Coach / General Manager Terry Ruskowski. "We feel his personality, work ethic and professionalism will fit in well with our organization and our community."
Dominey worked with the President's Cup Champion Memphis RiverKings during the 2002-03 CHL season. Previously he called hockey for the Idaho Steelheads and Seattle Thunderbirds.
"I am thrilled about the opportunity to join the Laredo Bucks family," said Dominey. "I got a chance to see a game here last year was amazed by the fan support and the passion for hockey in the state of Texas and inside the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Bucks are a wonderful organization and I can't wait to drop the puck and get going on this upcoming season."
In addition to hockey Dominey previously broadcast five years of minor league baseball with the Portland Rockies, Billings Mustangs and Yakima Bears respectively. He also worked the 2001 Major League Baseball All-Star game for MLB.com.
Dominey attended Linfield College, where he was selected as an N.A.I.A. Div. II All-American football defensive lineman and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications in 1995.
He will be joined in Laredo by his wife Amy.

EXHIBITION GAMES
The Bucks will play their first ever home pre-season game on Saturday, October 11th at the LEC against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Tickets are included in the season ticket holder packages, $6 for individual tickets.

October 9th vs. New Mexico in Corpus Christi at 7:05 pm.
October 11th vs. Rio Grande Valley in Laredo at 7:00 pm.
October 12th vs. Austin in Austin at 5:00 pm.
CHL REGULAR SEASON IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
The Bucks begin the 2003-04 CHL campaign on Saturday, October 18th on the road against the Corpus Christi Rayz. The Bucks home opener at the Laredo Entertainment Center is set for Friday, October 24th versus the San Angelo Saints. For season tickets call 956-718-BUCKS (2825).
