Daytona Beach Hawgs News Release

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach Hawgs owner Anthony Pewonski announced that Head Coach Ervin Bryson will also serve as the National Indoor Football League franchise's General Manager effective immediately.

The Hawgs operate under the umbrella of Centurion Sports Management, based in Lakeland, that includes two sister franchises – the Lakeland Thunderbolts and the Kissimmee Kreatures.

"From a logistical standpoint, it simply makes sense to have Daytona Beach decisions made in Daytona Beach,'' Pewonski said. "Ervin has not only shown his worth for his coaching, but for establishing the Hawgs in the community. Obviously I have faith in Ervin's ability because I'm trusting him to spend my money wisely."

Bryson's duties will now include overseeing the team's daily operations, including business and marketing.

Bryson has front office experience, serving as coach/general manager for the Greenwood (S.C.) Raiders semi-professional team in 1997 where he was named the American Football Association's general manager of the year.

"It's a great feeling to be a general manager of a professional organization,'' Bryson said. "I appreciate Tony's confidence in me and I appreciate the city of Daytona Beach for welcoming me into the community and embracing the prospect of a successful football organization."

The Hawgs have assembled a front office staff that includes Marketing Consultant John S. Haley, Director of Communications Dan Ryan, Director of Player Personnel Bill Gahagan and Dance Team Coordinator Kelly Conway. Bryson's coaching staff include former Florida State and New York Giant Leon Bright, Chad Rhodes and Marcus Pearson.

"I'm please with how everything has come together,'' Bryson. "We've made all the right moves in putting this team together. It's sure to be an exciting season."
