Austin Bruins News Release

It's the biggest series of the season for the Austin Bruins this weekend at Riverside Arena, and one that could go a long way in deciding the Central Division regular season champion. Austin hosts the Aberdeen Wings on Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 PM.

With 17 games remaining for both teams, Aberdeen currently holds a two point edge over the Bruins for first. The Wings visit Brookings on Wednesday night with a chance to extend it to four, but with the Bruins gaining a game-in-hand (one fewer game played), they could still skate out of the weekend in first place. The Bruins and Wings played a series at Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen on February 2nd and 3rd, with the Bruins taking three of four possible points, winning 4-1 and losing 2-1 in overtime. They lead the season series 3-0-1. After this weekend, there are two head-to-head games remaining - March 2nd and 3rd in Aberdeen.

Friday night is "College Night" at Riverside Arena. All college students with I.D. receive $5 admission at the door. There will also be a drawing for a team signed stick. Girl scout troop 47855 will be selling cookies as well. Game time is 7:05 both nights, with doors opening at 6. Fans can pre-purchase tickets at a $4 discount in Austin at Hy-Vee, Jim's Marketplace, Games People Play, and the Holiday Inn.
