TEAM NEWS: The Bruins split their first series of the season with the Aberdeen Wings this past weekend in South Dakota. Despite falling into a 3-0 hole on Friday night, the Bruins netted two goals in the third to make things interesting but they couldn't top Aberdeen, falling by a score of 3-2.

On Saturday, it was the same final score but this time it was the Bruins who came out on top. The black-and-gold jumped out to a 2-0 lead and controlled most of the first forty minutes. Despite surrendering the lead and allowing Aberdeen to tie the game late in the third, Bruins defenseman Jed Pietila scored in overtime with just 0.06 seconds left to win the game for Austin.

On the weekend, Jed Pietila scored three goals earning him the NAHL Central Division 2nd Star of the Week Honor.

PREVIEW: It's Aberdeen's turn to travel as the Bruins will kick off their home-opening weekend this Friday and Saturday. There's certainly some bad-blood between to the two rivals going back to last season with Aberdeen knocking the Bruins out of the playoffs and then winning the Robertson Cup. Add to that this past weekend's dramatic win, the energy and pace to this weekend's games will be heightened for sure.
