
Brownsville wins fourth straight

HARLINGEN, Texas - Brian Fulcher and Courtney Delahoussaye combined on a two-hit shutout to lead the Brownsville Toros to their fourth straight victory, 7-0 over Laredo in the first game Wednesday in the Texas Winter League.
Fulcher (1-1) went five strong innings, allowing only one hit, and striking out six. Brownsville pounded out 11 hits against Broncos pitching. The offensive attack was led by Brian Nichols, Brain Sabatella, Josh Jennings and Ryan Valyan - all with two hits a piece.
Nichols' two-run double in the third inning got the Toros on the board, scoring R.C. Dickerson and Brad Turney. Sabatella picked up an RBI in the fifth. after singling in Turney after he and Nichols led off the inning with back to back singles. Josh Jennings was 2-for-2 on the day, with two singles and a run scored.
Laredo (4-5) managed only two singles off Fulcher and Delahoussaye. Albert Laurel (0-1) took the loss for the Broncos, giving up three runs in three innings.
