
Brookings Explodes in 3rd Period

The Brookings Blizzard have beaten the Coulee Region Chill 7-2 Friday night at the Larson Ice Center. Coulee Region came out swinging scoring twice in the first five minutes, but the Blizzard weathered the storm scoring seven unanswered for the victory. Justin Moody had a big night scoring twice and assisting on one goal. Casey Purpur playing in his first game since September scored the game winner in the second period. Evan Hesse was also back from an injury and he scored in the contest. Emil Blomqvist scored his third goal of the year and second in as many games, while Nikkita Sokolov scored his second of the season. Thomas Williams went top shelf for his 20th of the season on a night where Brookings scored four third period goals and outshot Coulee Region 57-24. Drew Weigman got the win in goal for the Blizzard who have won three in a row. Brookings heads to Bismarck Saturday night to battle for second place in the Central Division.
