Brookings Blizzard News Release

The North American Hockey League recently released the 2013-2014 schedule. The Brookings Blizzard will again play 28 home games this season as part of a 60 game schedule. Their first four games will be played at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN, September 18-21, and their home opener will be held at the Larson Ice Center on Friday, September 27th against the Aberdeen Wings.

The Blizzard will be entering their second season in Brookings after a successful inaugural campaign in 2012-2013. Last season the Blizzard lost to the Bismarck Bobcats in the first round of the NAHL playoffs after finishing third in the division behind the Austin Bruins and Bismarck.

The Blizzard will play in the Central Division with the Aberdeen Wings, Austin Bruins, Bismarck Bobcats, and the Minot Minotauros. The Blizzard will also host three out of division teams this season, the Minnesota Magicians and the Minnesota Wilderness, who are new to the league, and the Coulee Region Chill, who moved to the Western Division in the off season.

Fans will have a chance to get their first look at the new team on September 13th when the Blizzard host the Aberdeen Wings in a pre-season exhibition game.

Individual game tickets will go on sale some time in September. Exact dates will be announced in the next week. Season tickets, group ticket packages, and VIP Deck tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Blizzard office at the Larson Ice Center or by calling 505-592-9114.

This season fans will also have a chance to purchase their tickets on-line and print their tickets at home to avoid lines at the ticket window on game days. Like last season the Blizzard have again partnered with Bozied's Shell at 6th & Medary where fans can purchase their tickets in advance.
