TODAY'S STORYLINES:
Brigade take on Valor in ArenaBowl XXXI
The Brigade will take on the Washington Valor in ArenaBowl XXXI next Saturday, July 28 at 7 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena. Baltimore went 3-1 against the Valor this season, outscoring Washington by 12 points per game in their three wins. This marks the first ArenaBowl appearance for both teams. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
ArenaBowl XXXI tickets on sale now
Tickets for ArenaBowl XXXI are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.BaltimoreBrigade.com, at the Royal Farms Arena box office, by calling the Brigade Ticket Sales office at 667-930-0200 or by emailing ticketsales@baltimorebrigade.com.
Bud Light to serve as presenting sponsor of ArenaBowl XXXI
The Arena Football League announced today that Bud Light will serve as presenting sponsor of ArenaBowl XXXI. All fans in attendance will receive a rally towel courtesy of Bud Light, and fans 21 and over will have access to the Bud Light Fan Zone, located on the Royal Farms Arena stage. The Bud Light Fan Zone will provide a premium in-arena tailgating opportunity, featuring drinks, games, and a great view of the action! In addition to the ArenaBowl XXXI in-game activations, Bud Light and the AFL will host several pop-ups at bars and city locations around the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas, distributing giveaways and promoting Saturday night's game.
Smith aims for ArenaBowl #8
Brigade Head Coach Omarr Smith, in his second season leading Baltimore, will be looking for his eighth ArenaBowl title this weekend. Smith, an AFL Hall of Famer, won four championships as a player (2002-04, 2007) and three as a coach (2012-13, 2015).
Lewis named AFL Kicker of the Year
The Arena Football League announced today that Brigade kicker Mark Lewis has been named the 2018 Kicker of the Year, becoming the AFL's fifth two-time winner of the award. Lewis, playing in his 14th AFL season and first season with Baltimore, led the league in field goals made (5), attempted (6) and percentage (.830) and tied for the league lead in extra points made (78), attempted (83) and percentage (.940). In Baltimore's two postseason games, Lewis has converted 13-of-14 (.929) extra points and 1-of-2 (.500) field goals - leading the league in each category.
10 Brigade players named to AFL All-Arena teams
The AFL announced on Tuesday selections for the 2018 All-Arena First and Second Teams, which include 10 Brigade players in 11 positions. Six Brigade players were named First Team All-Arena, highlighted by kick returner Brandon Thompkins and kicker Mark Lewis, each making their fourth All-Arena appearance.
