Baltimore Brigade News Release

BALTIMORE, MD - The Baltimore Brigade announced today the signing of two-time All-Arena defensive lineman Darryl Cato-Bishop, who enters his sixth season in the Arena Football League.

"You need to be able to rush the passer in this league," Brigade Head Coach Omarr Smith said. "We're excited to add a proven, productive pass rusher to the roster. We respect the way he competes and we're glad to have him on board."

Cato-Bishop has a total of 70 tackles (51 solo), 16.5 career sacks, eight forced fumbles, and seven pass break-ups in his AFL career with the LA Kiss, Orlando Predators, Cleveland Gladiators, and Albany Empire. He was named Second Team All-Arena in 2016 and 2018.

Cato-Bishop played collegiately at North Carolina State University where he appeared in 48 games and had 29 starts. He recorded 99 total tackles with 11 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one interception. Before joining the AFL, he spent time with the New York Jets practice squad.

Also signed today is Florida Atlantic University's defensive back D'Joun Smith, who was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. Smith later joined the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans practice squads. Most recently, Smith was with the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football League.

Offensive lineman Ian Park was also signed by the Brigade today. Park was named first team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West and did not allow a sack during his one season at Slippery Rock University. Park was a graduate transfer from Northwestern University where he appeared in 31 games and made 16 starts. Park also attended training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018.

The Brigade training camp begins on Friday, April 5 at Coppermine Fieldhouse. Weekday practices will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and weekend practices will be held in the evenings starting at 8 p.m. The last hour of practice is open to the media. Media interested in covering the event must RSVP by emailing aflcredentials@monmentalsports.com at least 24 hours prior to practice.
