Brian Daubach Named Team Manager Of The American Defenders Of New Hampshire

Nashua, NH, (Nov 5, 2008) - Boston Baseball All-Stars, LLC is pleased to announce former Red Sox first baseman, Brian Daubach, as the 2009 team manager. Daubach spent last season as the hitting coach of the independent Nashua Pride of the Can-Am League.

"I'm looking forward to working with Dan Duquette again, and also the new ownership and staff with the American Defenders of New Hampshire," Daubach said. "It's a first class organization in a great community. I look forward to building a winning team the local fans can really get behind. I think it's a great opportunity."

Daubach was selected by the Mets in the 17th round of the 1990 amateur draft. He spent seven years in the Mets' minor league system before signing with the Florida Marlins, where he made his major league debut in 1998. He later he played for the Boston Red Sox (1999-2002, 2004) and Chicago White Sox (2003).

He began 2005 with the Norfolk Tides, Triple-A affiliate of the Mets in the International League. On June 16, 2005, and made his debut with the club that drafted him fifteen years earlier. He completed his playing career within the Memphis Redbirds, AAA-affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006.

Daubach's most productive seasons were wearing a Red Sox uniform; he averaged 21 homers and 75 RBI per year, and gained a reputation as a "Dirt Dog" for his style of play. He later received a World Series Championship ring as a member of the 2004 Boston Red Sox. In his seven year major league career, he compiled a .259 batting average with 93 home runs and 333 RBI in 661 games.
