MILFORD, CT â The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) announced today that the Brevard Blue Ducks have hired former Texas Rim Rockers Head Coach Robert Reid as their Head Coach for the 2004 season. Reid, a 13 year veteran of the NBA with Houston, Charlotte, and Philadelphia, takes the reigns from Derek Howard who has moved up the corporate ladder to become the Director of Player Personnel.
"We learned the hard way last year, that you simply can't replace experience and that getting a guy with NBA time under his belt was critical to our success this year. We are thrilled to have him," stated Blue Duck Owner Mike Richman.
"This is a great signing by the Blue Ducks, to have Robert involved as Head Coach. His experience will be a great asset to the Blue Ducks this season," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III.
