Brett Hull and The Hanson Brothers added to Pros/Prospects Lineup

Frisco, TX "" The Schlegel Sports Group and the National Champion Texas Tornado are pleased to announce that former Dallas Stars forward and NHL great Brett Hull, will participate for a second straight year in the Pros vs. Prospects III Tornado Charity Classic on Saturday, March 17th at 7:00pm at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco. The Tornado are also pleased to announce that Jeff Carlson, Steve Carlson, and Dave Hanson, the real-life hockey players whose performances as "The Hanson Brothers" helped make Slap Shot one of the top sports films of all time, will also be participating in the game. Hull and The Hanson Brothers will join NHL legend Mark Messier as part of the pros roster which will compete against the Texas Tornado in the annual game for charity on St. Patrick's Day. The game will mark the first time that Mark Messier and his son Lyon Messier, a defenseman for the Tornado, will compete against one another on the ice. Tickets for the Pros vs. Prospects III Tornado Charity Classic are currently on sale. Proceeds will benefit the Schlegel Sports Foundation, as well as the various charities of the former NHL stars participating in the event. Following the game, there will be a live auction for the fans to bid on all of the game-worn St. Patrick's Day-style jerseys worn by the Pros team. In years past the charity game has brought in more than $50,000 for charities. "Having Mark Messier, Brett Hull, and The Hanson Brothers take part in this game is very exciting," said Kirby Schlegel, co-founder and Chairman of Schlegel Sports. "The addition of these legends of hockey will make it an entertaining evening for everyone, and no doubt a successful one." The Tornado have also announced that the American Red Cross will be on hand to conduct a blood drive prior to and during the Pros vs. Prospects game, so that fans may come out early and help save lives by donating blood to the American Red Cross before taking in a night of fun.

Since their inception in 1999, the Texas Tornado has set the new standard for excellence in United States junior hockey. To date, the Tornado has an overall record of 408 wins, 116 losses and 28 ties, which averages to over a 76% winning percentage throughout the eight-year history. The Tornado have clinched a spot in the 2007 NAHL Robertson Cup Playoffs, and sit four points out of second-place in the NAHL South Division with a 31-16-6 record. The Texas Tornado play all of their home games out of the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco, located just north of Highway 121 and the Dallas North Tollway.
