(Rochester, NY) - The 2015 inaugural Indoor World Cup came to Rochester on Monday night, pitting the best indoor players Brazil has to offer against the top players in Russia. The game featured members of the Rochester Lancers, Mauricio Salles and goalkeeper Marcelo Moriera. Brazil's Daniel Mattos and tallied a hat-trick for Brazil while Salles notched three assists in the effort. Rochester's Marcelo stopped fifteen shots to help Brazil record a 9-4 win over Russia.

The two sides went about the first fifteen minutes locked in a defensive battle as both sides were kept off the scoreboard. The Russians had the best opportunity midway through the quarter as Marcelo denied Vladimir Chitaya in tight before stopping the rebound attempt by Dmitri Ratnikov.

Just over a minute into the second quarter it was Brazil who broke the scoreless deadlock. It was Veiga who fed DaSilva who let a shot go from 30 feet to give the Brazilians a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later Brazil struck again, this time it was Marcio Leite who finished a Neto feed making it 2-0. Meanwhile at the other end Marcelo came up big immediately following the second Brazil goal denying Ratnikov with a diving stop to his right. Russia's Konstantin Golovski put the Russians on the board with his unassisted goal at 6:09 before Brazil added two by Danial Mattos and Leite's second of the game to give Brazil a 4-1 halftime lead.

The third quarter belonged to the Russians who netted the frame's only two tallies, cutting the Brazilians lead to 4-3. Valery Likhobabenko and Evgeny Marishin scored for the visitors to narrow Brazil's lead to just a goal with fifteen minutes remaining in regulation.

Brazil opened the fourth quarter with Manini scoring four and a half minutes into the frame while Mattos tallied his second to open up some breathing room for Brazil entering the final minutes of regulation. The two sides then traded goals as Golovski scored for Russia bringing the score to 6-4 before Mattos tallied the hat-trick to increase the Brazil lead to three with two minutes to play. Brazil's Neto notched his first goal of the match with under a minute left in the match and Luan Oliviera tallied with fifteen seconds remaining to give Brazil the win.
