Brampton's Kristofer Westblom Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (April 1, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Brampton Beast goaltender Kristofer Westblom has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 30, 2014.

The 27-year-old goalie won all three starts in the busy week allowing two goals or fewer in each of them. One of the victories came in a shootout and one in overtime as Westblom topped the Rapid City Rush in all three games stopping 98 of 103 shots (.951 save percentage). All three games were important for the Beats to secure the sixth seed in the upcoming playoffs.
His best performance was in the shootout win where he stopped 29 of 31 shots in regulation and overtime and then turned away 13 straight shooters in the shootout (his team won in round 13, 1-0).
On the season, Westblom is 18-15-5 with a .903 save percentage.
