
Brady Williams Sold to Chicago Cubs

Durham, NCâ The Northeast League has announced that Berkshire Black Bears 3B Brady Williams has been sold to the Chicago Cubs. Williams played in Berkshire for the 2003 season hitting .221 with nine home runs and 38 RBI's in 84 games.
Williams, 24, was originally selected in the 45th Round of the 1999 draft by the Boston Red Sox. In 1999 he was fifth in the Gulf Coast League in home runs with five in just 39 games.
Since then Williams has been part of the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Devil Rays organizations. While with the Twins in 2002, Williams reached double-A playing with the New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League.
Williams is the sixth Northeast League player and the second member of the Berkshire Black Bears to be purchased by a major league organization since the beginning of the 2003 season. Berkshire RHP Tim Bausher was sold to the Milwaukee Brewers in May.
