Brad Tucker Reaches 50 Caps

On Sunday, April 23rd, Brad Tucker became the forty-forth player in Major League Rugby to appear in 50 matches.

Brad Tucker began playing Rugby while at St Bede's College, Christchurch, NZ. He also played Rugby for St Pius X and Lincoln University. While at Lincoln University, he was a member of the Canterbury U-20s in 2012 and the Canterbury 7s squad from 2012 to 2016.

While at Lincoln University, he also played rugby for Christchurch Football Club and won the Millar Cup as their Sportsman of the Year in 2014. He began his professional career in the Mitre 10 Cup (Bunnings NPC), playing for Waikato in 2016, then Taranaki in 2017, and Manawatu Turbos in 2018.

He first joined Seattle in 2019, helping lead the Seawolves to their second MLR Championship. Following the 2019 season, Brad was named Major League Rugby Player of the Year.

Before joining New York (Ironworker #82), he appeared in 43 matches for the Seattle Seawolves.

Brad has played Senior Ruby for Christchurch Football Club, Hamilton Marist, New Plymouth OB, New Zealand Marist, Old Boys Marist, Waikato, Taranaki, Manawatu, and the Seattle Seawolves.

So far in his MLR career, Brad has scored seven tries, made 304 carries, has 2182 meters run, made 508 tackles, and has 537 ruck arrivals.

Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The latest of the first forty-four players to accomplish 50 caps for MLR includes Paul Mullen of the Utah Warriors, Peter Malcom of the Seattle Seawolves, and Eric Howard of NOLA Gold.
