Bowers recorded four points and six blocks while registering his first win as Baltimore's player/coach. The victory snapped the Blast's six-game losing streak and marked an end to the club's four-game home skid on a night in which Bowers etched his name into the Major Indoor Soccer League record book. The five-time All-League selection became the first player in League history to record at least 700 career points and 700 career blocks. Bowers also set-up Blast forward Giuliano Celenza for the game-winning goal with 4:53 gone in the fourth quarter to give Baltimore its first win against an Eastern Conference opponent this season.

The victory moved Baltimore to 3-7 on the season and kept the club four and one-half games behind first- place Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference standings. Don D'Ambra and Kevin Sloan each registered four points in the win, moving Philadelphia two and one-half games ahead of the Force. The loss dropped Cleveland (4-4) into a second-place tie with idle Harrisburg (4-4).

In the Western Conference, Milwaukee salvaged a .500 week by rebounding from the setback in Baltimore to record a 20-8 victory over second-place San Diego. The Wave (8-2) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win over the Sockers (5-5) and moved three games ahead of San Diego in the Western Conference standings.
