
Both Captains Are Back with the Signing of Gary Steffes

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (@allenamericans), ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today that the club has signed forward Gary Steffes to a new contract for the 2016-2017 season. Steffes is returning for a third year with Americans.
Gary Steffes is coming off a great postseason for the two-time Kelly Cup Champions that saw him score 13 goals in 24 postseason games. The native of Grand Blanc, Michigan, led the ECHL in goals during the 2014-2015 regular season with 44.
"It's exciting to be back in a place that feels like home," said Steffes. "We have a great group here in Allen that believes in each other and has found good chemistry together on the ice."
He has 66 goals in two seasons with Allen, while putting up 118 points. His best numbers have come in Steve Martinson's system, with the U.S. born forward playing a big role in the Americans power play success over the last two years.
The Americans raise the Kelly Cup Banner and open their 8th season of professional hockey on Saturday, October 15th against the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 PM . Season Tickets are on sale NOW at www.allenamericans.com or call 972-912-1000.
