BOSTON - The Boston Pride have re-signed a trio of defenders who have played critical roles in their immense success. Lauren Kelly, Jenna Rheault and Mallory Souliotis have all signed contracts for the 2020-21 NWHL season.

Souliotis (2-16-16 and plus-29 in 22 games) was second among Pride defenders in points in 2019-20. The eighth overall draft pick by Boston in 2017, she joined the team immediately after her collegiate career ended at Yale. As a senior at Yale in 2017-18, Souliotis was named First Team All-Ivy League and was the leading scorer among Ivy defenders, with four goals and 20 assists for 24 points in 31 games.

"Mallory brings grit and great poise to our defensive zone," said Boston GM Karilyn Pilch. "We will rely on her to defend the den, while adding, do I dare say, a few toe-drags to the offensive side of the game."

Rheault, the 25th overall pick by the Pride in the 2018 Draft, had a goal and five assists and was plus-14 in her rookie season in 2019-20 with the Pride. Prior to turning pro, Rheault was an integral part of the Wildcats' defensive corps at New Hampshire, where she played 143 games over four years.

"Jenna had a very impressive rookie NWHL season, with her best game coming in the Isobel Cup Semifinal victory over Connecticut," said Pilch. "She is a confident and steady blueliner who continues to develop because of her diligence and focus at every practice and workout."

After a standout 140-game college career at Northeastern, Kelly has turned in two strong seasons on defense for the Pride. In 2019-20, she was 2-10-12 and plus-17 in 23 games.

"Lauren is a solid defender who consistently shuts down rushes, and eliminates scoring opportunities for our opponents," said Pilch. "Her toughness and vision make her pivotal to our defense. We are thrilled to have Lauren, Jenna and Mallory back for the Pack."
