Boston Pride News Release
With 17 of 21 players on the current roster having played collegiate hockey or been raised in the community, the Boston Pride of the NWHL are truly Boston's team. For fans looking to enjoy action-packed professional women's hockey and support the Pride, individual tickets for the club's eight regular season games at Warrior Ice Arena are on sale now at NWHL.zone/tickets.
General admission tickets are just $20. Group tickets, discounted for groups of ten or more, can also be purchased at NWHL.zone/tickets. Continuing the NWHL tradition, members of the Pride are available after each home game for autographs and photos.
"With puck drop just a few weeks away, we cannot wait to have the support of all of our Boston Pride fans again," said defender Alyssa Gagliardi, an all-star and original member of the team who is back for her fourth season. "We're looking forward to a great season ahead with a mix of veterans and newcomers and can't wait to compete for the Isobel Cup with the support of Boston behind us. To our fans since day one, and our new fans attending their first game, we can't wait to see you around the rink. Is it October yet?!"
Winners of the first Isobel Cup in 2016, the Pride are legitimate title contenders again this season. The lineup is filled with high-skilled and accomplished athletes and includes the return of 2018 U.S. Olympic gold medalists Gigi Marvin, Amanda Pelkey and Haley Skarupa.
This season will also feature the debut of several promising Pride rookies, including 2017 NWHL Draft first overall pick Katie Burt in goal, high-scoring offensive defender Toni Ann Miano (both from Boston College), and a pair of standout forwards out of Northeastern: McKenna Brand and Denisa Krizova.
Among the veteran NWHL All-Stars back with the Pride are Jillian Dempsey, Emily Field, Jordan Smelker and Dana Trivigno, and defenders Lexi Bender and Gagliardi. The team is coached by former NHL defenseman and USNT assistant Paul Mara, and by former Pride player Marissa Gedman.
