HARRISBURG - With opening night kickoff quickly approaching, fans began swarming around the ticket windows over an hour before the game, looking for opportunities to find the best seats for the night's action. While many were local fans, football enthusiasts from all across the Mid Atlantic region flocked to the Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg to see what turned out to be a thrilling see-saw battle between two of the league's biggest rivals.

Droves of fans packed both sides of the field and around the dasher boards providing a very loud and energetic atmosphere for such a heated season opener. With attendance of well over 3,000 fans, John Morris said after the game that, "This is what the league is all about." He continued by going on to say, "Fans create the environment, and our fans really showed tonight that indoor football really does belong in Harrisburg. The players are fueled by the fans in any sporting event and with the fans, Stampede Spirit, and local cheerleading squads performing at halftime, I can't think of a better way to open the season for the Stampede."

The entertaining environment surrounding the display of football talent on the field, looks to keep the fans energetic about Stampede football. The next home game at the Farm Show will be on April 3 at 7:30 pm, which will be College Night for the Stampede. Morris finished by stating that one of his goals for the season was to, "create a strong bond between the Stampede and the local community by having themed nights geared to different interests." Some themes for upcoming home games include a Military Night and a Faith Night, as well as a Fan Appreciation Night during our last home game of the year.
