Bombers Host Springfield in Sunday Doubleheader

July 24, 2011 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Dubois County Bombers News Release

The Dubois County Bombers host the Springfield Sliders in a doubleheader at League Stadium as the final two weeks of the Prospect League regular season unfolds.

The Bombers, after a 6-2 win at Richmond on Friday and a tough 11 inning 4-3 loss in Nashville last night, find themselves at 8-8 in the Second Half Standings of the Prospect League's Western Division - but just 2 games behind the first place Terre Haute Rex.

Springfield has rebounded from a rough first half and is only a game out of first place at 9-7 after sweeping a doubleheader last night against the West Virgina Miners before 1943 fans in Beckley, WV.

Today's first game will begin at 5:15 pm, and the second will begin about 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both games are 7 inning affairs. It will be Public Service Appreciation Night at League Stadium, where all police officers, firefighters, and EMT's will receive free admission upon showing their identification. Family members of these honorees will receive $1.00 off the ticket price. Gates will open at 4:05 pm!

This will be the first of a 5 games series between the Bombers and the Sliders. The Bombers travel to Springfield on Tuesday for a doubleheader and a Wednesday single game.
