Bombers Help West Win All-Star Game 10-1, Resume Play Friday
July 11, 2012 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Dubois County Bombers News Release
The Western Division All-Stars knocked off their eastern counterparts 10-1 Wednesday night at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Ill. The win assures that the winner of the playoff game between the Dubois County Bombers and the second-half Western Division winner on August 7 at League Stadium will have home-field advantage in the Prospect League Championship Series.
For the Bombers, Alex Britt pitched the third inning, walking one and allowing two hits and a run while striking out two. Ty Simpson pitched a scoreless seventh, and Nick Green closed it out with a clean ninth.
The Bombers figured in the offense, too. Cody Daily and Dalton Rouleau walked in the seventh to load the bases, and Kolin Conner drove Daily in with a base-loaded walk two batters later. Rouleau scored on a single by the next batter, and Conner scored on an error by the batter after that.
Bo Ausmus and Landon Curry each had a plate appearance as well.
The Bombers resume play Friday, July 13 when they team up with Hedinger Beverage for a big night at League Stadium.
Hedinger Beverage will select five lucky fans to be finalists for their "Cruise for 2 to the Bahamas." The cruise will be in November and the final winner will be selected in a drawing to be held at the Jasper Inn on Saturday August 18th.
Fans can pick up free advanced general admission tickets for Friday night's game at participating bars and pubs in Southern Indiana as well as at Hedinger Beverage's headquarters and store at 950 Charles Street in Jasper. Tickets are good for free general admission to Friday's game or can be used to "trade up" at the Bomber ticket booth to orange- or red-back chair seating for just $2 or $3, respectively.
In addition to great baseball with the Bombers, the Budweiser Girls will be on hand to host a variety of fan-friendly games between innings with prizes throughout the night and beer specials will include $2 drafts on Bud and Bud Light.
For further information on getting free tickets, please call Hedinger Beverage at (812) 482-5352 or stop by their store.
So get your tickets and come on out to watch the Bombers host the Danville Dans. It should be a great night at League Stadium on Friday the 13th. Gates will open at 6:30 EDT. First pitch is at 7:15.
