Dubois County Bombers News Release
HUNTINGBURG, Ind. - The Dubois County Bombers may have fireworks after all, but they'd like to get the field at League Stadium in playable condition in time for their 7:15 p.m. game Tuesday vs. the Hannibal Cavemen.
Due to Monday's rain, Bombers general manager Gary Freymiller said there was a lot of work to be done to make the field usable, but he added that the game should start on time.
Freymiller also said the Bombers would do everything possible to get the field ready by the scheduled start time.
On a lighter note, Freymiller seemed confident that the Bombers would shoot fireworks after Wednesday's game,. Ironically, it's too wet to use them after Tuesday's game.
Official approval has not yet been given, but the hope is that Monday's rain eased the drought conditions enough that fireworks will be allowed.
All other July 3 and 4 plans remain unchanged. Kirby Stailey will perform before at 6:15 p.m. July 3 and play between innings, and "The Boys Are Back" will play after both games.
Fans also have the chance to enjoy a beer garden both nights.
