
Bolts Take 2-0 Lead over Express

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning have taken a 2-0 lead over the Windsor Express after earning the 107-97 victory Tuesday evening. The series now shifts to the Rose City Friday the 19th for game three. Game four will take place in Windsor as well if necessary.
London was able to jump out to an early lead in the game behind Amir Williams' 8 points in the quarter before the Express was able to match the Bolts point for point the rest of the way. Both teams finished the quarter all tied up 25-25. Windsor looked to be taking control of the game in the second quarter as they dropped 31 points and extended their lead to as many as 10 points.
The third quarter saw a new look Lightning as the team came out energized and was quickly able to close the gap on the Express and turn the game around. London would keep up the pressure, outscoring Windsor 31-17 in the third, eventually extending their lead to as many as 19 points during the fourth quarter before setting in and winning the game by 10.
Jermaine Haley Jr led the Bolts with a game-high 27 points while Terry Thomas added a double- double of 21 points and 12 rebounds on the same night as being named the NBL Canada 6th Man of the Year. Cam Forte and Amir Williams both added 16 points with 9 and 11 rebounds respectively. Jordan Burns rounded out the scoring for the Bolts with 12 points.
Big man William Claiborne had himself a game off the bench scoring 27 points on 10-13 shooting from the field and 7-10 from the free throw line. Billy White added 24 points on the night before needing to be escorted to the locker room for his off-court antics yet again. Nick Garth was the only other Express player to score in double-digits with 22 points of his own.
