London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are pleased to announce the signing of Canadian forward, Jordan Jensen-Whyte to the team for the 2021-22 season.

The 6'6 Jensen-Whyte joins the Bolts for his second stint in the National Basketball League of Canada after injuring his knee during the 2017-18 season. After an extensive rehab period, Jensen-Whyte joined Team Canada's 3x3 Men's Team and helped them win their first FIBA 3x3 Masters Series while also earning Canada's first birth into the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in 2021.

This will be Jensen-Whyte's third reunion with Head Coach Doug Plumb who was an assistant with the Edge during Jordan's time in St. John. As an UBC alumnus, Coach Plumb and Jensen- Whyte were teammates on the 2012-13 Thunderbirds team that participated in the USports Final 8 Championship.

"Jordan comes from a winning program in UBC. He had tough luck to start his professional career but has worked diligently hard to get himself back healthy and in peak shape. He has been playing for team Canada on the 3x3 circuit and has expanded his game significantly as a result. He possesses great length, is sneaky athletic and can play / defend multiple positions.

He's a winner and we're happy to have him in the mix this season and I think he'll surprise a lot of people." - Head Coach Doug Plumb

"Hey Lightning fans, I'm excited, grateful, and ready for the opportunity to compete and represent the city of London. My professional basketball journey has been a unique one and I can't wait to write the next chapter of it alongside all of you. Coach Plumb is an outstanding leader and knows how winning is done so you can be sure more special moments are on the way. The #DriveFor5 is alive and I promise to do my part every day to ensure the season ends with that mission accomplished. Can't wait to meet you! - Jordan Jensen-Whyte
