Anaheim Bolts News Release
Anaheim, CA- (December 8, 2011)- The Anaheim Bolts will travel to Arizona this weekend for back-to-back matches against the Phoenix Monsoon. Saturday's game will kick off at 6:00 P.M. PST while Sunday's contest will be an early affair with the first kick at 11:00 A.M. PST.
The Bolts are coming off a strong weekend, recoding wins in the PASL (12-10 over previously undefeated Turlock) and in the US Open Arena Championship 15-7 over local side Docemas).
"Last weekend was a wonderful start for our club," remarked head coach Bernie Lilavois. "After a solid week of practice, we are ready to continue our charge up the table."
The Bolts are currently 1-2 and sitting second to last in the Western Division of the PASL. It is still early days, however, and the Bolts are just two games out of first place.
At the moment, Anaheim's offense is firing on all cylinders with the side scoring 27 goals over the two games last weekend. Enrique Tovar and Hugo Casillas each recorded four goal games while Tomislav Colic scored five goals over the two matches. Adriano de Lima continues to be the Bolt's most explosive player, scoring two goals and dishing out 11 assists en route to both victories.
Phoenix sits in the seller of the Western Division with a record of 1-5 and has given up a league high 47 goals. The Monsoons offense is led by Roberto De Lima with five goals while Ryan Hays leads the team in points with two goals and four helpers.
The Monsoon's backup goalie may be a familiar name to those who keep up with the local soccer scene. Oscar Dautt (two games played) spent the summer outdoors with the Los Angeles Blues in the USL Pro League.
It will be a tough task, but two wins on the road this weekend means Anaheim will be right back in the playoff hunt.
