Anaheim Bolts News Release

Avondale, AZ- The Anaheim Bolts may not have lit up the scoreboard, but they held the Phoenix Monsoon scoreless for over two quarters en route to a 6-2 victory.

The Bolts have now won their third straight game in all competitions, leaving Bernie Lilavois satisfied with his team's work. Especially in the final quarter.

"After giving up leads in the fourth quarter of the first two games, I am proud of the fact that our guys are now keeping the same intensity level throughout the entire match," remarked head coach Bernie Lilavois.

The first quarter ended 1-1. Monsoon Captain Alex Dom gave Phoenix the lead midway through the opening period with a confident finish at the back post, but Enrique Tovar drew the sides level with just over a minute left. The Bolts forward sent a screamer into the far corner from beyond the yellow line.

The Bolts kept the Monsoon scoreless in the second frame and took a 3-1 lead on the back of two goals in less then a minute.

First Patric Ruiz broke on a counter attack and got Monsoon keeper, Oscar Dautt, to commit before feeding the ball back for Rafael Gaytan Espinosa to score on his debut.

53 seconds later, Adriano de Lima got Dautt to go to ground and crossed to Hugo Cassilas for the easy tap-in.

Tovar added a power play goal in the third off of a feed from Casillas to make 4-1 heading into the final 15 minutes of play.

Espinosa slammed home his second to complete a dream debut and Tovar completed his hat-trick before Phoenix pulled back a consolation goal to make the score-line more respectable.

With the victory, the Bolts improve to 2-2 and will look to continue its march up the Western Division table when the two sides go at it again tomorrow at 2:00 P.M. MST.
