London Lightning News Release
(KITCHENER, ON) The London Lightning lost their first back-to-back games of the season tonight as they fell 113-110 to the KW Titans. London was able to overcome a abysmal first quarter where they failed to score in double-digits, registering only 9 points in the first 12 minutes of play. London would play catchup most of the night but managed to outscore the Titans in the second, third and fourth quarters before KW would hit two threes: one to send the game into OT and another to win the game in the extra frame.
The Lightning struggled from the field tonight, shooting just 43% from the field as a team. However, they showed much improvement from the free throw line, hitting 21-29 from the charity stripe. Unfortunate for the Bolts, as they played without the steady veteran presence of Garrett Williamson tonight as he was a late scratch, being added to the IR list with a hamstring injury.
Xavier Moon had an impressive game for the Bolts, scoring a game-high 37 points on 15-24 shooting to go along with 7 assists on the night. The second year guard leads the Lightning with 21.2 points per game on the season. Despite only being with the team for a short amount of time, Terry Thomas impressed in his first game for the Bolts as he scored 19 points of the bench to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. AJ Gaines added 14 points in the start and Mareik Isom had 12 off the bench.
The Lightning's three-game roadtrip is now over and the team will return home for a quick one-game homestand Saturday against the KW Titans before hitting the road to take on the Express the next day in Windsor.
