London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are excited to announce that we have completed a trade for and have signed American guard, Chris Jones, for the 2022 season.

The former University of Louisville alum joins the Bolts after a recent trade with the Windsor Express. 2022 will be Jones' third season in the National Basketball League of Canada after two seasons with the Express. During the 2019-20 season, Jones was named to the All-NBLC Third Team while boasting career averages of 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.

Standing 6'0, Jones has an extensive professional career with stops in Turkey, France, Greece, Mexico, Qatar and Iceland.

"It goes without saying that Chris can score the basketball. A lot of guys can score the ball though, but what Chris brings to our team, what made him an absolute must add, is his compete level. Chris is a dog in all the best ways. He cares deeply about winning and his teammates. He is the type of person you will go to battle with any day, any place, anywhere; even when outnumbered and you still like your chances of winning. We are happy to add him to our team and will look for him to infuse his relentless spirit into the fabric of our culture."- Head Coach Doug Plumb

"This is a great opportunity for me to get my career back to where I want it to be and I'm really appreciative of Coach Plumb and the Lightning for bringing me in. I've talked with Xavier Moon and Kevin Ware and have only heard great things about the fans and the organizations so it made the decision to sign an easy one. I look forward to playing for the best fans in the league". - Chris Jones

Catch Chris and the rest of the Lightning this season at when they take the court at the Budweiser Gardens for their home-opener March 5th, 2022.
