Bolton Wanderers Sign Martin Petrov from Manchester City

Charleston, SC. Bolton Wanderers have signed Manchester City midfielder Martin Petrov. Petrov will join Bolton on a free transfer on July 1. The 31-year-old was out of contract at Manchester City where he made 66 appearances scoring 12 goals.

Left-sided Petrov was signed by former City boss Sven Goran Eriksson from Atletico Madrid for =A34.7m in 2007.

Petrov, who was Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 2006, has previously played for German club Wolfsburg. He has also made 77 appearances for Bulgaria, scoring 19 international goals.

Battery to face Bolton, July 17

The Charleston Battery will face Barclays English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers at Blackbaud Stadium on Saturday, July 17. The match marks the first ever visit to Charleston by an EPL team.

Bolton Wanderers are getting set for the 2010/11 EPL season where they will compete against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham & Liverpool.

World Cup viewing parties Saturday and Sunday

The Three Lions Club at Blackbaud Stadium will open at 1 PM this Saturday, June 26 for the USA versus Ghana match (2:30 PM kick off). Then on Sunday the TLC will open at 9 AM for the England versus Germany match (10 AM kick off).

The Three Lions Club is the ultimate soccer-friendly pub and contains an unmatched collection of soccer-memorabilia from around the world.
