
Boggess Homers, But Paints Fall 9-6 to Butler

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - Eli Bogges started the scoring with his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the second, but the Chillicothe Paints (2-5), presented by Adena Health System, couldn't hold the lead and lost 9-6 to the Butler BlueSox (4-3) Thursday night at VA Memorial Stadium.
Leading 3-0, Butler got two runs on a two-RBI single from Dalton Hoiles to cut the Chillicothe lead to 3-2.
The BlueSox then broke the game open with a five-run sixth to make it a 7-3 BlueSox lead.
The Paints were able to score a few runs throughout the rest of the game, but Butler answered with two runs of their own to finish with a 9-6 win.
Butler's Dalton Hoiles paced the BlueSox offensively, going three-for-five with a home run and five RBIs.
Eli Boggess had a big night at the plate for Chillicothe, picking up two hits on four at bats, hit his first home run and collected five RBIs.
Butler's Pavin Parks (2-0) got the win, he started and went six innings, allowed four runs on six hits, struck out four and walked two.
Derek Moore (0-1) took the loss for Chillicothe, allowing 6 runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. Moore struck out four anf walked none.
The Paints head to Beckley, West Virginia to play the West Virginia Miners at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Chillicothe returns home Sunday to host the Champion City Kings at 6:05 p.m. on another Kids Club Day, by Subway. All Kids Club members are admitted free.
