Chicago Rush News Release
Rush FB/LB Bob McMillen will become the first inductee into Immaculate Conception High School's Athletic Hall of Fame at a ceremony tonight during halftime of ICHS' game vs. Aurora Central Catholic High School.
"Bob has been a highly successful athlete in high school, college and at the professional level, and is a perfect choice to be the inaugural member of the Immaculate Conception Athletic Hall of Fame," said Darren Howard, Immaculate Conception's athletic director. "Bob has maintained a great relationship with the school, including coming to our summer football camp this year to sign autographs for all the kids."
"It's a great honor to be selected as the first person to be inducted into the Immaculate Conception Hall of Fame," said McMillen. "I have some great memories of my time there and still go back two or three times a year to watch the football team play. Tonight should be a really special night and my family and I are looking forward to it."
McMillen is a 1988 graduate of Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst, where he played football, basketball and baseball before becoming a three-time all-America selection at Benedictine University in Naperville.
After his college career, McMillen has enjoyed a 12-year career in the Arena Football League, including the last four as a member of the Chicago Rush.
This year, McMillen helped lead the Rush to the ArenaBowl XX championship, his third title in his 12 seasons in the AFL. He also was named as one of the 20 greatest players in Arena Football League history and became the league's all-time leading rusher during the 2006 season.
