Blues schedule first tryout camp

New Orleans, LA. The ABA New Orleans Blues professional basketball team that begins play in November today announced that it would hold its first Free-Agent Tryout Camp on June 10th and 11th at the biggest and most scenic facility in New Orleans: Joe Brown Park on Reed Blvd. The 11th will feature activities at the Audubon Zoo's Nature Center, located inside the part as well as several spacewalks and activities for the kids.

According to Kyle B. Franklin (G-Man), Manager of Basketball Operations for the team, "We are also working with the area's job placement office, LA Job 1, which will register all of the interested participants and start the process of searching for a job for them." He added, "And the evening will be highlighted with an open scrimmage at 6:00pm that will be viewed by the public."

The scrimmage will be started with a "Jump for the Money" contest where a $100 bill will be placed on the top of the backboard and lowered until someone can grab it. There will also be a slam dunk contest at the half. The cost is $100 for pre-registered players and $125 for all others.
