Kitsap BlueJackets News Release
Bremerton, WA (March 27, 2011) - Right hand pitching powerhouse Cody Woodhouse, freshman from Arkansas State University has signed to play for the Kitsap BlueJackets in 2011. Cody is considered to have a nice, loose arm and has the ability to spin the ball very well. Woodhouse is one of three pitchers who still holds a 0.00 in ERA's. Woodhouse held Murray State to just one hit in the first start of his career, pitching 3 scoreless innings in a game against the Thoroughbreds earlier this month. This brings a new level of excitement to the BlueJackets this season.
Woodhouse, a 6'5", 190-pound right-hander was a standout pitcher for Mountain Home High School for the last two seasons, and was named Junior Varsity Pitcher of the Year while playing in Cordova, Tenn. in 2007. At Mountain Home, he was selected to the All-Conference team in 2008 and 2009, and as a junior, he was named All-State.
The BlueJackets, in the Western Division of the West Coast League, will open up the 2011 season playing the Wenatchee Applesox in Wenatchee on Friday, June 3rd. Home Season Opener will be Tuesday, June 7th, at 6:35 PM at Gene Lobe Field, Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton. Season tickets and 10 Game packages are now available by calling 360-479-0123.
