Holyoke, MA - After college baseball seasons around the country have come to an end for some programs, players are beginning to look towards summer baseball.
The Blue Sox's Opening Day is on Tuesday and with that on the horizon the roster has come to form.
Some of the players listed on the current roster are still participating in the NCAA Tournament with their respective teams and will join the Blue Sox at the conclusion of their seasons.
Blue Sox have listed 27 names on the Opening Day roster with seven Major League Baseball Draftees in the mix.
General Manager Kirk Fredriksson went across the country to get players with young men coming from all over the United States.
The Blue Sox roster includes players from USC, UC Davis, Kennesaw State, Buffalo, Michigan, USF, Michigan State, Cumberland, University of Miami, Stanford, Miami University, BYU, Central Florida, Oral Roberts, Stetson University, Holy Cross College and Sienna.
With multiple collegiate conferences represented the Blue Sox bring a wide range of talent to the Pioneer Valley.
Along with collegiate talent, the Blue Sox have attracted possible future Major Leaguers as well.
In the Blue Sox roster for 2013, there are seven MLB Drafted players.
Seven of the current players on the Blue Sox roster have been previously drafted by Major League organizations including the Phillies, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Marlins, Angels, Tigers and Orioles.
The 2013 MLB First-Year Players Draft will run from June 6 through June 8, and the Blue Sox expect more of their roster members to be drafted.
The Blue Sox season begins on Tuesday against the Utica Brewers in an exhibition game with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. at MacKenzie Stadium.
Tickets can be bought at the gate, $6 for Adults, $4 for children age 3-12, $4 for senior citizens and children 2 & under are free .
